About us

We breed both shetlanders and riding horses (dressage). Sportview is the stable name of our mini-shetland breeding.  With the dressagehorses, which we have together with Martin’s brother (Thijs Broens), our breeding products are recognisable by the addition of BO to the horsename, which stands for Broens Overasselt.

Sportview
Our shetlanderbreeding is now almost 40 years old. In the early years, the family stable name Bromishet was used. That is the abbreviation of Broens Mini Shetlanders. In 1983 Martin bought his first mini, the grey import mare Ranch Carole. From 1990 onwards, the breeding was continued under an own stable name. It became Sportview. The breeding of brother Thijs kept the stable name Bromishet.

Stal Sportview breeds exclusively with quality mares with predicate rich bloodlines. Sportview ponies are nationally and internationally known for the successes achieved at inspections and shows. All possible national titles for both stallions and mares have been achieved. In addition, the Overall Championship during the International FSPC show in Switzerland was won.

In the meantime, 20 Sportview stallions have been approved by the NSPS for breeding. These are Abantos, Aramis, Balmoral, Black Diamond, Cappucino, Concorde, Early Bird, Gallyon, Indurain, Kalypso, Onyx, Perfect, Rebel, Thorgal, Ultimo, Ymaro, Lennox, Like a Dream, Monarch and No Limit.
